Green Wave Continues Slide With a Loss Against UTEP

Last night, the Green Wave continued its mid-season slide with a fourth consecutive loss. UTEP has now contributed two losses to Tulane during that streak.

Unfortunately, it looked like the Green Wave would manage to snap its losing streak while building a 9 point lead early in the first half. Nevertheless, a strong team performance by the Miners helped the team grab a narrow 69-65 victory. This puts UTEP in a tie at the top of the conference with the Memphis Tigers.

Worse yet, Tulane will head on Jan. 29 to neighbor University of Southern Mississippi. In nearby Hattiesburg, the Green Wave will face a tough Golden Eagles squad that already spoiled Central Florida's perfect season.

As for the season, Tulane falls to a disappointing 2-4 in Conference play, which may extinguish some early hopes for an NCAA tournament or NIT appearance. That said, in a conference with little parity in talent, a win against USM could go a long way to get the team back on track.
