Tulane Outlasts San Diego to Remain Unbeaten

As Tulane students returned from Thanksgiving break, the basketball team took the court at New Orleans Arena yesterday against the storied San Diego Toreros. I can't help myself there.

Anyway, despite the flashy venue, the Green Wave had to stay fired up without much fan support, as you can see from JCO's picture. And they did just fine, capping a sloppy start with a solid second half for a 65-46 win.

This was the third game in three days in the Hoops for Hope classic, and Coach Conroy mentioned the team feeling the effects of tournament play near the end. Even with fatigue, Tomas Bruha and Josh Davis picked up double-doubles

Tulane moves to a perfect 7-0 to start the season. However, as a bah-humbug John Owens points out on Twitter, Tulane ranks 335 of 345 NCAA teams in strength of schedule. The real tests are yet to come.

  1. For what it's worth, I was the humbug, not John Owens.
