Green Wave Rolls Into 5th Straight Loss

A season that began with tremendous promise is starting to seem lost. Traveling to Southern Mississippi, the Green Wave picked up its fifth consecutive loss.

The Golden Eagles laid a convincing 67-54 smackdown on Tulane. The team failed to get closer than five points to their opponents for virtually the entire game.

Though Jordan Callahan and Kendall Timmons picked up the slack in scoring, the key stat of the game was the 42-26 rebounding battle which ended in USM's favor. Tulane - a team that has struggled at the boards all season - could not keep pace.

Tulane is now 2-5 in the conference. Meanwhile UTEP and Memphis are now tied for the lead at 5-1 each.

On the bright side...Tulane is in luck with a home game against Rice next. The Owls, of course, have already suffered a loss to Tulane and continue to stick at the bottom of the conference. The Green Wave desperately needs to break a disappointing losing streak and finish strong to earn a solid seed in the conference tournament. A win against Rice will be nothing short of imperative if Tulane wants to continue to make this season an unparalleled success.
