Tulane tames the SMU Mustangs

Yep. If it wasn't true before, the Conroy era has officially begun. The Green Wave followed its hard-fought victory over the Rice Owls with a very solid home win against the SMU Mustangs.

SMU - a respectable 9-5 before this game - was a noticeable threat due to their unique inside/outside offense. Nevertheless, the Green Wave held onto a significant lead for most of the game and closed the door with a 79-70 win.

Most importantly, Tulane continues to tread new water with a 12-3 record on the year. Better yet, the team is flawless so far in Conference USA, which leaves them at the top of the standings with a 2-0 record. Best of all, this victory continues a six-game winning streak, as the team continues to build momentum in January.

Kendall Timmons, once again, led the team with a killer 26 point game. On top of that, he shot 4 for 5 from beyond the arc, showing his versatility as a guard and forward.

The Green Wave will have a great opportunity to extend the win streak another game when they face off against UTEP at home in four days.

One thing is certain, at this point. This team is ready to take charge of the conference, and it looks like they are close to firing on all cylinders.
