Tulane Defeats Alabama State 84-69

The Green Wave moves to 4-2 for the season after a relaxing victory over the Alabama State Hornets.

It seems like the takeaway from a minor disaster at Nicholls State last week is on point: the team, as a whole, needs to change its mentality to find better shots.

Coach Ed Conroy explained:
"They were taking off of the dribble and we weren't playing unselfishly. We weren't sharing the basketball, and we were taking some shots that obviously we thought we could make -- but they were low-percentage shots. We had zero assists at halftime, I don't know that I've ever had a team do that."
The Wave's follow-up to their loss to Nicholls State may have been against a far weaker opponent. The Hornets rank in the bottom of the NCAA in virtually every statistical category, mind you. However, putting five players in double digit scoring is certainly a shift in the right direction.

After their 84-69 victory over Alabama State, the Green Wave will return home against Louisiana-Lafayette (1-4) on December 4th.
