This is breaking news from ESPN's Joe Schad, but apparently Tulane is now in talks with former Miami (OH) coach Mike Haywood about the head coaching position. Here's Schad's tweet.
Surprised? Oh yeah. The Haywood name hasn't appeared in Tulane's coaching conversation at all up to this point. Even more surprising is where Haywood is coming from. After turning around a rough Miami program, he was hired last winter by the University of Pittsburgh on Dec. 16. On Dec. 31, he was arrested in a domestic violence dispute and fired from Pitt, less than a month after being hired.
I gotta ask. Are you kidding me?
